Dennis Thompson joined Canton in 2009 and served as President from 2012 to 2022. During his tenure, he implemented several key initiatives, including the introduction of the Canton Cup (later renamed the Joe McKeever Cup) and the establishment of the Hall of Fame. Additionally, Dennis made significant improvements to groupings, standardized payouts, and handicaps, allowing play from any tee box during tournaments. In direct response from golfing patrons, he started the club out of his bar in Canton as a means to secure tee times at various golf courses. Pat has been an officer in the club since it’s inception in various rolls including President, Treasurer and on site money collector. Pat has won the club championship multiple times and has won the inaugural Canton Cup season long competition. His service and play within the club is unparalleled.
